Payloads, strobes, mounts, guards, and nonstandard batteries can change balance, sensing, endurance, and propulsion. A mapping payload also needs a complete operational and data-quality test.

- Registration is required because the aircraft is over 250 g.

- Register the exact Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 serial in the Part 107 inventory before mapping, inspection, or other professional use.

- The FAA lists an accepted Standard Remote ID declaration for Phantom 4 Pro V2.0. DJI specifies firmware V01.00.70.17; confirm the broadcast and exact serial in DroneZone before relying on it.

Compatible kit
Buy in a useful order.
Prioritize known-healthy 5870 mAh batteries, exact 9455S props, approved media, a rigid case, and the V2.0 controller. Buy mapping software and targets only after the aircraft and processing chain pass a test project.
Modification boundary
The original Phantom 4 Pro controller is not interchangeable with the V2.0 OcuSync controller. Verify batteries, props, filters, controller, firmware, mission-app support, and every airframe part against V2.0 specifically.
No third-party exact-fit stack is verified yet.

- Before every flight
- Inspect every propeller, motor bell, arm hinge, sensor window, and gimbal guard area. Replace a nicked or warped propeller instead of trying to straighten it.
- After dust, sand, salt, or moisture
- Power down, remove the battery, brush away loose debris, and let the aircraft dry fully. Do not use compressed air to drive grit into motors or gimbal bearings.
- Every 10 flights
- Review battery swelling, cell warnings, propeller screws, storage capacity, return-to-home altitude, and the app flight log.
- Before storage
- Let intelligent batteries manage themselves at room temperature, keep them out of a hot vehicle, and recheck charge state before the next job.

Troubleshoot without guessing.
The aircraft drifts, will not hold position, or reports a compass warning
Move away from vehicles, reinforced concrete, speakers, and large metal objects. Confirm satellite status and follow the manufacturer calibration prompt only when the app asks for it.

The horizon is tilted or footage vibrates
Remove the gimbal guard, inspect the gimbal dampers and propellers, clean the lens, and run the official gimbal calibration on a level surface.
Stop if the gimbal binds, chatters, or was struck hard enough to deform its mount.
Firmware update stalls or components show mismatched versions
Charge the aircraft and controller above the manufacturer minimum, keep every component powered and close together, use a stable network, and update each intelligent battery when required.
Do not fly through a version mismatch or repeated update failure. Use official support.
The aircraft and controller will not link
Confirm the controller is GL300L or GL300K for Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, inspect cables and antennas, match firmware, and follow the V2.0 linking procedure in DJI GO 4.
Do not substitute an original Phantom 4 Pro controller or launch through a partial link.
A mapping set shows blur, rolling geometry, or inconsistent overlap
Verify mechanical-shutter mode, focus, shutter speed, flight speed, altitude, interval, overlap, wind, card performance, and mission-app trigger behavior with a small processing sample.
Do not collect a full site until a sample block processes cleanly at the required ground sampling distance.
