A useful site does not need to know everything about you.
Drone Authority has no reader accounts. This policy explains the limited data used for local study progress, site improvement, email delivery, and outbound recommendation measurement.
Training progress
Your study record stays in your browser
The study modules, flashcards, and practice exam can save progress in your browser's local storage. Drone Authority does not create an account or receive that study record. Clearing site data in your browser removes it.
Site measurement
We measure whether the site is useful
When configured, Drone Authority uses Google Analytics and Vercel's performance tools to understand page visits, device classes, navigation, and technical speed. Those services may use cookies or similar identifiers under their own policies. We use the results to improve content, find broken journeys, and diagnose slow pages.
Outbound links
Recommendation clicks are counted
Some retailer, course, and service links pass through a Drone Authority redirect. We may record the product or destination, retailer, referring page, button location, browser user-agent string, and referrer. This lets us measure which recommendations help readers and attribute affiliate revenue. The redirect does not collect payment details, and the site does not intentionally store a raw IP address with these clicks.
Newsletter signup is optional
When you request a study plan or join an email list, we send your email address, signup source, and relevant interest tags to our newsletter provider, Lettercarry. We use that information to deliver the requested material and related Drone Authority updates. Every marketing email should include an unsubscribe control.
External services
Other sites have their own policies
Retailers, course providers, government sources, map services, and sibling Authority sites control their own websites and privacy practices after you follow a link. Review their policies before submitting personal or payment information.
Your choices
Access, corrections, and deletion requests
You can block analytics through browser privacy controls, clear local study progress through browser site-data controls, and unsubscribe from email using the link in a message. For a privacy question or a request concerning information you submitted, email corrections@droneauthority.org. We may need enough information to locate and verify the record.
This policy may change when the site adds or removes a service. Material changes will update the date above. Read the separate affiliate and ownership disclosure for how recommendations and commissions work.
