Wing and Walmart will bring drone delivery to Denver and Seattle in 2027

The two metros push the Walmart network toward nearly 20 U.S. markets. Wing's aircraft cruise at up to 60 mph and carry up to 5 pounds, lowered to the yard on a tether.

Decision brief

If you live in either metro, you can join Wing's waitlist now, but service starts in 2027 and rolls out store by store. In Colorado, watch your town council too: FAA approval covers the flights, while local land-use rules decide where delivery hubs can go, and Castle Rock and Parker have already paused new hub approvals.

The announcement

Two more metros for the largest U.S. drone delivery network.

Wing and Walmart announced on October 5 that their drone delivery service will expand to the Denver and Seattle metro areas in 2027. Wing says that brings the partnership to nearly 20 major U.S. metros and that more than three million customers can already order by drone in markets including Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Houston, and Orlando.

The new metros are part of Wing's plan to reach more than 270 Walmart stores and over 40 million customers. Wing's aircraft cruise at up to 60 mph, carry up to five pounds, and lower packages to a yard or driveway on a tether. Wing says its fleet uses two aircraft types and completes thousands of residential deliveries a day.

What to watch

Waitlists now, store-by-store launches in 2027.

Customers in a served area will see drone delivery as an option in the Walmart app or on Walmart.com, and can also order through the Wing app. Wing is taking waitlist signups at wing.com/walmart. The Seattle announcement included a statement from Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell, a sign of where in Puget Sound service is expected. Wing did not name Denver-area stores or launch dates.
