How this Part 107 practice test works
The current PSI bulletin specifies 60 scored questions and five unscored validation questions for the Unmanned Aircraft General exam. This simulator mixes five practice validation items into its 65 prompts without labels; those five do not affect the score. It draws from 282 original questions and reshuffles every set.
The clock stays paused until you answer question 1. During a timed run you can open the FAA figure book, calculator, and scratch pad without leaving the testing surface. Set answer feedback to reveal explanations after each choice or keep them hidden until scoring. Explanations include the correct answer, official source references, and a lesson for that topic. A CFR citation appears where a specific regulation governs the answer.

Current scored blueprint
What is covered on the Part 107 exam?
The FAA UAG knowledge test covers five scored domains. Regulations and Operations account for nearly three quarters of the scored blueprint, while Airspace and Charts supplies the visual interpretation questions. The scored counts below are this simulator's rounded targets; PSI specifies percentages, not fixed integer counts for every exam form.
| Knowledge area | Scored target | Share | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regulations | 29 of 60 | 48% | Part 107 limits, certification, waivers, Remote ID, and operations over people. |
| Airspace and Charts | 12 of 60 | 20% | Airspace classes, authorization, sectional symbols, airport data, and coordinates. |
| Weather | 3 of 60 | 5% | METARs, TAFs, visibility, stability, density altitude, and weather hazards. |
| Loading and Performance | 1 of 60 | 2% | Weight, balance, center of gravity, load factor, and aircraft performance. |
| Operations and ADM | 15 of 60 | 25% | Crew roles, airport operations, emergencies, night vision, maintenance, and judgment. |
Use the result
What should you do with a practice score?
The real FAA test requires 70% to pass. A practice score is not a certification result. As a study target, aim for at least 80% on multiple shuffled runs and explain why each missed choice is wrong. That reduces the chance that one familiar question set is carrying the result.
If a domain is weak, switch to its focused lesson instead of immediately restarting the full exam. Use the sectional chart lab for visual misses, the flashcards for recall, and the AKTR decoder if you are preparing for a retake. Once you are passing consistently, the certification guide covers eligibility, IACRA, your FAA Tracking Number, PSI scheduling, test day, TSA vetting, and the temporary certificate. Your result screen links there directly when you pass.
Effective October 26, 2026 · what changes
UAG tests will add embedded chart images that are not in the printed supplement.
The FAA says the images will come from current VFR and IFR low-altitude charts. Practice reading labels, symbols, and boundaries across several figures instead of memorizing one excerpt. This change does not set a removal date for the printed supplement; the FAA will announce that separately.
