DJI publishes the answer in a table most people never find, and the PDF that circulates instead is from 2023. This is DJI's current matrix, 14 devices against 17 aircraft, checked September 3, 2026.

Goggles turn the intelligent modes off

This is the part buyers miss, and it is easy to read backwards in DJI’s own wording. On every camera drone DJI documents here, flying with goggles and a motion controller disables the intelligent modes. ActiveTrack, Waypoint Flight, MasterShots, QuickShots, manual focus, gimbal parameter settings and enhanced transmission are all listed as not supported, and shooting drops to single-shot 12MP photo and normal video.

Upgrading does not fix it. The newer Goggles 3 and RC Motion 3 pairing carries the same restrictions as the older Integra, Goggles 2 and RC Motion 2 one. It adds head tracking and keeps obstacle avoidance, and that is the difference. If you bought a Mini 4 Pro or an Air 3 for ActiveTrack, you cannot fly it that way in goggles.

Below is DJI’s text for each pairing, with the firmware you need before the devices will link at all.

DJI Mini 4 Pro with DJI Goggles 3 DJI RC Motion 3v01.00.0400 or above
1. The Portrait mode, settings for gimbal parameter, manual focus, enhanced transmission and intelligent flight modes such as ActiveTrack, Waypoint Flight, MasterShots, or QuickShots are not supported. 2. Only the following shooting modes are supported: • Photo: Single shot (12MP resolution) • Video: Normal (4K/60fps, 1080p/60fps) 3. When using the remote controller as the control device (DJI RC 2/DJI RC-N2): • Only the goggles display image transmission. DJI Fly does not display image transmission. • The remote controller can control the recording function of the aircraft, but cannot control the recording function of the goggles. Enabling recording from the shortcut menu of the goggles will enable the aircraft and the goggles to record simultaneously. 4. When using the DJI RC Motion 3, head tracking is supported. 5. Obstacle Avoidance is supported (Brake or Bypass).
DJI Mini 4 Pro with DJI Goggles Integra DJI Goggles 2 DJI RC Motion 2v01.00.0300 or above
Only the following functions are supported, while the other intelligent modes are not supported. 1. Photo: Single shot (12MP resolution) 2. Video: Normal (4K/60fps, 1080p/60fps) 3. Obstacle avoidance actions are supported (brake/bypass). Disabling obstacle avoidance when a remote controller is used results in automatic deactivation of obstacle avoidance when switching to RC Motion 2 later. 💡Note: Zoom is not supported.
DJI Air 3 with DJI Goggles 3 DJI RC Motion 3v01.00.12.00 or above
1. Camera switching, settings for gimbal parameter, manual focus, enhanced transmission and intelligent flight modes such as ActiveTrack, Waypoint Flight, MasterShots, or QuickShots are not supported. 2. Common questions

Do DJI Goggles 3 work with the Mini 4 Pro?

Yes, on aircraft firmware v01.00.0400 or above, but with real limits. DJI says portrait mode, gimbal parameter settings, manual focus, enhanced transmission and the intelligent flight modes including ActiveTrack, Waypoint Flight, MasterShots and QuickShots are not supported on that pairing. Shooting drops to single-shot 12MP photo and normal video at 4K/60 or 1080p/60. Head tracking works with RC Motion 3, and obstacle avoidance stays active.

Do DJI Goggles N3 work with the Mini 4 Pro?

No. DJI's compatibility table marks that pairing with a cross. Goggles N3 are listed with the Avata 360, Neo 2, Neo, Avata 2, and the O4 Air Unit. An unlisted pairing has no firmware path that makes it work.

Which goggles work with the DJI Neo and Neo 2?

DJI lists Goggles 3 and Goggles N3 for both the Neo and the Neo 2, together with RC Motion 3 and the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3. Older Goggles 2 and Integra are not listed for either aircraft.

What works with the DJI Avata 2?

DJI lists Goggles 3, Goggles N3, Goggles Integra and Goggles 2, with RC Motion 3, RC Motion 2, the FPV Remote Controller 3 and the FPV Remote Controller 2. The Avata 2 is the most widely supported aircraft in DJI's table.

Can I fly the Mavic 4 Pro or Mini 5 Pro with goggles?

Not according to DJI's table. Neither the Mavic 4 Pro nor the Mini 5 Pro is listed with any goggles or motion controller. Those aircraft are flown with a standard remote controller.

Does RC Motion 2 work with the Air 3?

Yes, on firmware v01.00.06.00 or above, and only for basic functions: single-shot 12MP photo and normal video, with all other intelligent functions unavailable and zoom not supported. Upgrading to Goggles 3 and RC Motion 3 on v01.00.12.00 does not lift that. DJI lists camera switching, gimbal parameters, manual focus, enhanced transmission, ActiveTrack, Waypoint Flight, MasterShots and QuickShots as not supported there either. It adds head tracking and keeps obstacle avoidance.

Why does my old compatibility PDF disagree?

DJI's downloadable Consumer Drones and Goggles Compatibility Information PDF is version 1.4, dated December 2023. It predates Goggles 3, Goggles N3, RC Motion 3, the Air 3S, Neo, Neo 2, Flip, Mini 5 Pro and Mavic 4 Pro, and it explicitly excludes the original Avata. This page uses DJI's live help-center article instead.
