A map pin is a lead. Verification is a separate claim.
The directory is designed to help a buyer discover companies without turning open data into invented credentials or thousands of thin profile pages.

Overture Places, then provider claims
The launch map uses the Overture Maps Foundation Places release dated June 17, 2026. Overture combines permissively licensed place sources and provides names, coordinates, public websites, categories, confidence, and operating status.
We include only U.S. records with a public website, usable city and state, mapped coordinates, sufficient confidence, and a business name/category combination that signals drone or aerial services. Retail stores, repair businesses, training programs, clubs, manufacturers, camps, schools, and obvious surname matches are excluded.
Overture did not produce a publishable service lead in five jurisdictions after those filters. To complete 50-state plus D.C. coverage, we added one clearly labeled company-website source lead for Alaska, the District of Columbia, Iowa, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. Those records remain unclaimed and receive no stronger status than an Overture lead.
Read the official Places documentation and licensing and attribution guidance.
Public fields
What appears, and what never does
A source lead may display a company name, city, state, public website, source label, source confidence, and conservative capability signals derived from its public name and category. Those signals are search aids, not claims that a provider is licensed, insured, available, or qualified for a specific mission.
Exact street addresses are suppressed and map coordinates are rounded to city-level precision. FAA residential addresses, certificate numbers, recurrence records, insurance documents, submitter emails, and ownership-verification evidence are never published.
Status labels
Three levels, no borrowed authority
Source lead
An open place record suggests a drone-capable business exists. We have not verified Part 107 currency, insurance, service area, or capability claims.
Provider claimed
A representative demonstrated control of a provider-owned contact or website and supplied the public listing fields.
Owned & verified
The provider shares ownership with Drone Authority. That relationship is disclosed on every recommendation and profile.
Ranking
No paid inclusion or paid ranking
Inclusion, claims, corrections, and removals are free. Without location permission, results are sorted by state, city, and business name. With location permission, results sort by straight-line distance calculated in the browser. Drone Authority does not transmit or store that location.
Tosa Marketing is owned by the same operator as Drone Authority. It receives a clearly disclosed local module only when southeast Wisconsin is relevant, plus a disclosed service section below the national finder. It is not silently boosted in national sorting.
Claims & removals
The company gets the final word on its listing
Providers can submit a new company, claim a source lead, correct public fields, or request removal. Claim evidence and private documents are reviewed off the public page. We may contact a provider through a domain-owned channel before accepting canonical changes.
